v0.5 Beta - Track Storage

Welcome to another beta update, today's episode brought to you by... track storage! And bug fixes.

✅ Features

  • New: Track Storage

    • Tracks can either be referenced or copied

    • Referenced tracks have a nifty little icon on 'em 👍

    • Right-click referenced tracks to reveal their location in Finder

    • Toggle in Cabinette > Settings, or in the Import Wizard

    • Referenced tracks can be deleted

    • Stored tracks can be deleted

  • The Mapper can now toggle between a vertical or horizontal layout via the top-right toolbar layout button

  • All drag placeholders are also clickable to perform their action

❤️‍🩹 Fixed

  • Deleting or un-assigning a track now correctly updates remaining indices in the album

  • Importing tracks now actually works! ✨

  • Cabinette can no longer be shrinked ad-infinium: a minimum window size exists ✨

  • Existing tracks won't be re-added to an existing album if they're already there. New ones will still show up as expected.

⚠️ Known issues:

  • Animations

    • Track reordering in an Album does not always animate

    • Dragging an Album does not always animate

  • Selecting Light Mode in Cabinette > Settings does not persist across launches

  • Restore basic Import Wizard importing with "done" popup

  • Add link to Featurebase on the About screen / in app ✨

  • AlbumGrid: Tweak modal and bg animations to be different

  • Replace x.circle -> xmark.circle icon in Album Modal ✨

  • Track indices should start from 1, not 0

  • Fix overlapping Album tiles on the grid

  • Focus improvements to album modals: Esc dismiss + track drag/drop

  • Section buttons do not show disabled state until clicked

    • Reordering new section down causes jump to bottom when multiple sections exist

v0.3 Beta - Sections

  • Album Sections can be reordered/deleted/renamed

    • (Right-click context menu for now, better UX coming soon!)

  • Spiffy animations on the Album Grid for moving/deleting/creating albums/sections

❤️‍🩹 Fixed

  • Data model is now properly versioned

  • Crash when deleting album in created section

  • Clicking the new album placeholder in a section should put the album in that section, not back in “Unassigned”

v0.2 Beta

Some incremental progress on this one. Gearing up major improvements to Sections in 0.3, but in the meantime, here's what we got for 0.2:

Issues with ✨ were reported by testers like yourself! One day we'll get a leaderboard >:)

✅ Features

  • Empty case for Album modal (with animation)

  • Drag and drop tracks into specific order within the album track table

  • ✨ Create the About panel with website, privacy policy links

  • Create the Preferences window

  • Create genres via right-clicking tracks! Huzzah!

❤️‍🩹 Fixed

  • Light mode no longer hardcoded (oops!)

  • Escape to dismiss album modal now works

  • Track drag focus moves to Album Modal correctly

  • Tracks are not copied to a central location; if the original is removed, the app's reference to it no longer works.

v0.1 Beta Release!

Thank you for trying out Cabinette! This is the earliest 0.1 Beta. Lots of cleanup is planned for upcoming release :)

✅ Features:

  • AlbumGrid

    • Create Sections

    • Placeholder for section/album

    • Right-click context menu

    • Select track in an album

    • Drag albums between sections

    • Default album image generation

    • 3D Effect for albums

  • Mapper:

    • Drag and drop tracks into albums

    • Drag and drop tracks into placeholder to create new album

    • Editable track data

    • Right-click to set genre

    • Right-click to unassign selected tracks from any/all albums

  • General:

    • Track: Play Audio

    • Set volume to 50% by default

    • Themeing! :)
